Caught a "Classic Albums" making of Transformer by Lou Reed last night which I highly recommended. While al the songs on the album are great, this one is my favourite at the moment. Bowie's high notes at the end? Magical.

I plan on updating daily with a different song, and reasons why that song was on my mind at the time of posting.

Today, though, I bring you The Darkness:

I chose The Darkness for my virgin blog post because I suppose it's my favourite song. When I first heard this track, my ears could hardly comprehend the sonic assault that is "I believe in a Thing Called Love". It went against everything on Australian radio at the time. I thought it was from another planet. The raw energy, theatrics, and guitar solos awoke something deep inside me, and changed my opinion on what music is, and could be.

Then of course the band fell apart making their second album and that was that.
